End-of-Life Doula Services

Walking you home: Compassionate
end-of-life support

Like a birth doula supports a mother at life's beginning, a death doula accompanies you on the sacred journey toward life's end. As the fear of the unknown starts to feel overwhelming and even the most practical decisions seem impossible, it’s helpful to have someone to walk alongside you.

That's where I come in. As a neutral, compassionate presence, I help you or a loved one navigate what lies ahead with dignity, purpose, and grace.

You might want a death doula if…

You're facing a terminal diagnosis and feeling overwhelmed by decisions and emotions.

You have a loved one who is dying and you're struggling to know how to help.

You want to ensure end-of-life wishes are clearly communicated and documented.

You need practical guidance on hospice care, palliative care, or care setting options.

You're a caregiver who needs respite and emotional support.

You believe that how we die matters as much as how we live.

How we can work together

There's a wide and fertile space before the end where something beautiful can happen. You can take stock, review, repair, and resolve what still needs mending. You can reclaim authorship over how you go—not just medically, but emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. This isn't just about dying. It's about finishing life on purpose.

As your death doula, I can help by:

Creating space for real conversations
I facilitate honest, unfiltered dialogue about dying—no euphemisms, no pressure to "stay positive." Just real talk, grounded in truth and respect. I help families navigate difficult conversations and bridge generational communication gaps.

Getting your affairs in order
Together, we walk through advance care directives, health proxies, and end-of-life planning. I help you explore your options—hospice care, palliative care, staying at home versus other settings—so your wishes are clearly documented and respected when it matters most.

Honoring life's meaning
I create room for you to reflect on the shape and meaning of your life—not to sum it up, but to honor it fully. Whether through legacy letters, ethical wills, or simply sharing stories, ensure your wisdom and love are preserved.

Planning care that reflects your values
We discuss the practical details: who's doing what, what you want (and don't want), and how to ensure your care aligns with your values. I help you understand what's unfolding physically, emotionally, and spiritually without overwhelming you.

Creating sacred space
Dying deserves beauty and intention. I help you design an environment that feels safe and comforting—considering lighting, music, scent, and energy. Whether through cherished traditions or newly created rituals, we honor what feels meaningful to you.

Supporting your loved ones
I provide respite for exhausted caregivers, guide family members in offering loving touch, and hold space for all the messy emotions—grief, rage, love, guilt, and peace—without judgment. Your spiritual path, whatever it may be, is honored and supported.

Being present beyond the end
My support doesn't end with the last breath. I remain present through early grief, helping you and your family navigate the raw and bewildering first days of loss.

“I found a deep thread between the emotional and practical work necessary to be at ease with my own and my loved one’s eventual departures. I am so grateful for the gentle and insightful guidance Kit provides and look forward to deeper explorations.”
